Creating Your Character

Once you log into UO Horizon, you will create your first character. This is where you choose your name, appearance, and starting skills.

Do not worry too much about perfection — skills can always be trained later.


Step 1 — Choose a Character Name

Choose a name that fits a fantasy setting.

Step 2 — Customize Appearance

You may customize your character’s:

These choices are purely cosmetic and do not affect gameplay.


Step 3 — Select Starting Skills

You may choose three starting skills.

Each skill can start with a value up to 50.0.

Example:

Swordsmanship — 50 Tactics — 50 Healing — 50

This gives you a 150 skill point starting template.

Skills can later be trained up to 100+ through gameplay.


Suggested Starter Templates

If you are unsure what to choose, here are some simple starter builds.


Warrior (Melee Fighter)

A strong beginner template that focuses on survivability.

Archer

A ranged combat build.

Archery — 50 Tactics — 50 Healing — 50

Archers deal damage from a distance and can avoid some danger.
