From forgotten crypts and ancient temples to volcanic caverns and frozen prisons, each dungeon has been handcrafted with its own creatures, rewards, lore, and progression. Many dungeons also feature **Dungeon Guardians**, powerful encounters that can be summoned by the community through the Dungeon Progress system. ---- ===== Dungeon Progress ===== <WRAP horizon_box> Most dungeons contribute toward a shared **Dungeon Progress** goal. As players defeat creatures, collect treasures, and explore the dungeon, progress increases until the Dungeon Guardian can be summoned. Once defeated, the Guardian enters a cooldown before players may begin building progress again. Guardians are massive encounters unlocked through community participation and reward players with some of Horizon's most valuable loot.
